"5* Dutch Oven"2010-04-18 By jbuys (Illinois) Everything has basically been said already. I would prefer seasoning cast iron myself, but that's not an option with Lodge anymore. That aside this is still a five star dutch oven.
"Buy, cook, and savor!"2010-03-07 By Jeff (Toluca Lake, CA) This is a beautiful Dutch oven that comes with a self basting lid (a nice touch). To add to your collection, purchase the 12" Lodge iron skillet, but pass on the costly skillet lid. The lid for this Dutch oven is the "Perfect" fit for the 12" skillet.
I could not be more satisfied with the speed of delivery and quality of the merchandise.
As a side note: Avoid the use of Pam Spray (at all cost), regardless of Lodge recommendations. Pam build-up is unrelenting with it's accumulation of glue-like residue, requiring great effort to remove it, should you decide to soap and scour your ironware for re-seasoning. I have been using cast iron cookware for many years, and highly recommend that you only season and prep your cookware with a light coat of vegetable oil, canola oil or a combination of the two. Many recommend the use of Crisco...I do not. It smokes and stinks in the oven, and does no better job of seasoning your cookware. Bake your (soaped, cleaned and dried) oiled cookware at 350 degrees for one our, then wipe clean with a cloth towel while still hot enough to handle. When ready to cook, wet a paper towel with oil, spread it about the cooking surface and you're ready for non-stick cooking.
Cast Iron is fun to use, just take care of it..
"Glad I chose it!"2010-02-05 By B. homen (Walnut Creek, Ca.) After using my grandfather's hand-me-down cast iron skillet for two decades, I decided it was time to spend $200 on a new one. I read dozens of reviews, including Cooks Illustrated, Target, Amazon, etc. I am VERY happy I chose the Lodge. Stews, roasts, Mediterranean dishes (recommending a Tagine), even bread, cook perfectly The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the weight when taking it out of oven with a stew or roast. Use proper lifting posture (bend knees and use leg muscles, not back) and it's fine. And I saved about $130.
"Love it!"2010-02-05 By Leanna J. Gable (Georgia USA) I purchased this as a gift for my boyfriend who loves to cook. He wanted a set of cast iron and this met all of the criteria suggested by his favorite, science-loving celebrity chef. We have made stew and baked beans and chili and we adore it. The bale and the spikes on the inside of the lid are awesome features.
"Great outside on our open cooker"2010-01-31 By Kathleen Thomas (Casco, MI United States) I bought this to use on an outdoor burner when I make my homemade spaghetti sauce from our garden tomatoes. My recipe takes 2-1/2 hours to cook, so cooking inside was damaging the stove and my Farberware pans. This is very heavy and will stand the heat for the long cooking time. I love this dutch oven.

"Best 10 inch skillet"2010-03-14 By enschick We needed a 10 inch non stick skillet and this one works great for our needs.
"Exceptional pans for the sale price--I've bought 3"2009-12-25 By AmazonComWoman (Dayton OH) I originally started out looking for the entire Chef's Classic nonstick hard anodized cookware set after a friend spent the Friday after Thanksgiving in line at Macy's to get the 17-piece set for $500 off. First of all, Amazon had the same set on sale for the same price without the hassle of a Black Friday excursion, which was fantastic! But when I looked at the set, it had many pieces I didn't need (pots and pans)--only my nonstick skillets were in need of replacement. I chose the Cuisinart because of the great sale price, the hard anondized exterior, the nonstick interior, and especially because they are broiler safe, a go/no go stipulation on nonstick from my husband, who makes the best omelettes and frittatas on the planet. We had both the 12-inch and the 8-inch frying pans for almost a month now and we're exceptionally pleased with them, they turn out THE BEST egg dishes without sticking, go straight to the oven for broiling without hassle, and clean up easy in the sink. The 12-inch pan came with a chef's pan handle on the opposite side of the regular handle and my husband really, really likes that -- it's a big pan and it makes it very easy to handle, esp. when full of hot food. True, you can't just toss them in the dishwasher but very few good nonstick pans will let you do that anyway. They also have a very nice weight to them and cook evenly. Loved the two we bought so much that in the last week I ordered the 10-inch pan to round out the bunch. Can't say enough good things about this cookware line.
"Perfect for eggs"2009-12-24 By Perry H. (Brookline, MA) After several months of steady use, this pan has held well. I can make a perfect 3 egg omelet using no butter or oil. Absolutely nothing sticks to the cooking surface. Cleans-up great. A tremendous value.
"Great pan!"2009-09-17 By Georgeanne (OKC, OK) When my husband bought this pan for me, I was a little miffed that I didn't get to check it out first. :-) But, after just one use, I was hooked! NOTHING sticks to this pan. I've had it about a year, and couldn't be happier with it. I have never put it in the dishwasher (it's very easy to handwash). Couldn't be happier!
"great non-stick fry pan"2009-09-12 By Anna Christine (California) We are very pleased with the non-stick surface of the cuisinart fry pans we bought. They wipe clean with ease.

"Lid broke without being touched"2010-05-16 By Yuqiu Jiang (Boston, MA USA) I have been using this thing for a week. Just now I found the lid broke in half. It was standing on a trivet, without anything in it, on the kitchen table, and without anything around it. It just broke by itself for no obvious reasons.
"Great little tea pot!"2010-04-07 By L. Motyl (MA) This is a great little tea pot that holds enough water for about 4 cups of tea. It brews great tasting tea and is suprizingly sturdy. I am very happy with this purchase and enjoy using this teapot daily!
"nice but.."2010-04-06 By Carly The teapot is nice but the glass is so delicate and I always afraide to brake it.
"Grosche Glasgow Teapot"2010-03-13 By juniev (Foothill Ranch, CA) This lovely teapot is exactly what I envisioned the ideal glass teapot would be. It scores highly on all the features I was looking for: quality, practicality, functionality and beauty. So often something that is aesthetically pleasing does not deliver, but this teapot definitely delivers on its promise and more. One of the ways I enjoy using it most is to steep fresh herbs: place fresh herbs (e.g., mint, tarragon, etc.) into the infuser, pour hot water into the infuser, and let steep for a few minutes. This teapot elevates the tea drinking experience! I highly recommend the Glasgow teapot and would not hesitate to purchase any of the other products offered by this manufacturer.
"Soooo Cute"2010-02-15 By J. Means (TN, USA) This is such a cute teapot/ infuser. Love that it's glass, so my tea doesn't have that nasty metal taste (blah#. It didn't come with temp setting instructions, but I set my stove on Medium. Please treat with care #duh, it's glass) :-P

"Circulon 11 inch Everything Pan"2010-05-11 By Sherran A. Smith (Arlington, TX) I purchased several different pieces of Circulon as a wedding gift. The bride loved her gifts!
"Exceptional Quality... as expected."2009-08-25 By Stephan (Texas) My only complaint is a minor one... the handles get a bit warm. Otherwise this is a great pan that I use almost daily.
"nice for free would not pay for it"2009-08-23 By Morganna Wolf (Pacific NW) This pan has a lot of functionality. It is just a great do anything pan
however - it is not as heavy as I've come to expect from Cirulon - the handles are not well attached - it does not come with a lid
Just by look and feel I don't suspect I will have this as long as I've had my other Cirulon (other set is over 7 years old and still looks great and functions well); however I bought a bunch of pieces to add to my set and this was free. As a free product it is a great pan. It cleans up well and cooks evenly.
"Outstanding Quality"2008-11-05 By S. Cook I had purchased a Calphalon skillet from Amazon about 5 years ago and have used it continuously since then to the point that it needed to be replaced. I purchased this skillet on the Friday Sale and found it to be even more superior in quality. I have used it for about a month now and it continues to amaze me...there is practically no clean up and nothing sticks! I particularly like the grooved cooking surface. I would highly recommend this product....don't be fooled by cheaper skillets...you will be very disappointed!
"Very useful and durable"2008-06-29 By Sudhanshu Grover (DEARBORN, MICHIGAN United States) This is another gr8 purchase i made from amazon. Must say, really a gr8 product. Much better than many other non-stick brands. Make sure to wash it with soft sponge and only use wooden spatula on it and this product will last a lifetime, just as it was brand new.

"Oxidation!!!!"2010-05-17 By Nhieu Do (Philadelphia) I regret getting this. Even though the lid is heavy and feels like it's made to last, i am returning it. First, the biggest problem was oxidation. After washing the lid and left it in the drying rack, I noticed red residue all over on the inside of the lid. This happens every time i'd used it, and it was disgus

"Keeps my fajita meat warm"2010-02-08 By Anonymous Reviewer (USA) We love to make our own fajitas (especially in a slumping economy). We used to cook the meat and vegetables and set them on a plate. By the time we got to our second flour tortilla, the meat had become cool/room temperature. Finally, our fajita meat stays hot through the whole meal. The only issue I have, it is VERY difficult for me not to put dish soap on these and wash them as I do other dishes. They always feel sort of oily fron the oil I have to put on them before I heat them in the oven. The handle hot pads are great. Careful....They come out of the oven SUPER hot, but it makes the experience so authentic.
"These work well"2010-02-05 By Kristopher Wheeler (St. Louis MO.) For the price these work really well. I have only used them a few times but I like them. They are worth it.
"Nice Fajita set"2010-02-05 By Will's Mommy (Boston, MA USA) After I got I reseasoned it in the oven with veggie oil like I do with all me new cast iron pans. Used it the other night for fajitas and the kids loved the sizzle! You don't really need this pan. It is mainly a frill. If you have the round griddle you can use that as well and it is larger. Just don't forget a trivet. Overall a good package for $18 and a lot cheaper than eating out for Fajitas!
"How did I live without these?"2010-01-17 By Shelly (Pennsylvania) These are a great addition to any kitchen. Designed for fajitas, they have many other uses. I grill steaks in my Lodge Logic grill pan and have these heating in the oven. There is nothing worse than having an expensive steak go cold - and these pans prevent that. A wonderful gift - very attractive as well as functional - and a must have for steak and fajita lovers.
"JEANNIE"2008-01-18 By Andrew Tkach WE USED IT THE NIGHT WE GOT IT. IF YOU DON'T HAVE ONE, YOU MUST GET ONE.

"Lodge Logic 5Qt Double Dutch Oven"2010-05-17 By Jill Kenyon (New England) Have cooked with cast iron before but in moving "lost" all my pieces. This really flavors the food well, has even heat, and was well seasoned upon arrival. My only wish was that there were longer handles or removable handles, as they get very hot and are awkward to use with hot mitts. Overall, though, it's exactly what I was looking for.
"Cast iron goodness"2010-05-10 By Bender This dutch oven gets used at least a couple times a week. Mostly use the lid as a skillet and the non-stick surface is unbelievable. I believe it also conserves energy slightly because I have to use lower heat than when I use aluminum cookware and I can turn it off sooner since it holds heat and continues to cook or warm the food for a short time. I use the dutch oven to cook small roasts in and fry potatoes and chicken. It is an awesome fryer, just throw a screen lid over top and your set to fry the best chicken you ever had.
"Forgot how great it is to cook with cast iron!"2010-04-19 By Anne Nonon (Midwest) It's been years since I've used cast iron to cook with and I recently bought this dutch oven after reading many reviews of different brands.
I love this unit- you are basically getting 2 items for the price of one. Prior to purchasing this, I read the reviews and a few mentioned using the lid as a fry pan- and it does a wonderful job at that. I bought the trivet and my husband made bacon in the lid with the trivet to flatten the bacon- great job there!
My set arrived perfectly seasoned and ready for use. I did go ahead and reseasoned it prior to the 1st use, even though it wasn't necessary. From the first use and all the way to tonight's dinner, which was superb, we have yet to be disappointed. Even though cast iron may be a little heavier- it does such a great job at cooking evenly. I made a pork roast with veggies and at a little less than the normal temp I bake it, this dinner cooked considerably faster. The meat was incredibly moist and the veggies were just right!
Clean up is a snap- I had went ahead a purchased a Dobie scrubby from a local store, which is fine to use on these and less expensive than the Lodge (sorry Lodge- have to recommend what works best and saves money here) scrub brush. It cleans up quickly and after a thorough towel dry- it is ready for the next meal!
This is a very well constructed product and the fact that is made in the USA makes it all the better. I am already getting ready to order the 12 inch Lodge skillet and looking at other items, as I feel these are well worth the money and I'm certainly not breaking the bank to get these incredible items!
"Versatile and vital kitchen tool"2010-04-14 By W. Meyer Muliti-use describes this dutch oven. Great for baking bread. Use it for everything. The lid makes an excellent searing pan as well.
"A nice little oven"2010-03-30 By Leslie Shortlidge (Columbus, OH United States) I like this dutch oven! Ours arrived in perfect shape (and with free shipping!). My only advice would be to order a lid with a handle. The skillet cover is a bit hard to manipulate, so I ordered the lid soon after using this pot a couple of times.
