Amazon.com Review

Cuisinart Chef's Classic non-stick hard anodized 1-1/2-quart saucepan with cover. Cool grip riveted handles for ease of use, durable hard anodized exterior, Quantanium non-stick interior, tempered glass covers seal in flavor, hard anodized, oven-safe construction.
This small but versatile 1-1/2 quart saucepan is ideal for heating milk, melting butter, or making sauces. It's also perfect for the single cook, allowing small amounts of food to be heated without the scorching that can happen in a larger pan. The thick, hard-anodized aluminum construction conducts heat evenly and efficiently through the sides as well as the base, a tempered glass lid seals in flavor while keeping the contents visible, and a specially designed rim allows for easy drip-free pouring.

Cuisinart Chef's Classic hard-anodized cookware features an advanced Quantanium nonstick coating, designed for healthy low-fat cooking. The coating is tough enough for use with metal utensils. Even delicate foods like fish can be cooked without sticking, and cleanup is quick and easy. Every pan is constructed from durable 3mm hard-anodized aluminum, providing superb heat transfer without hot spots. The securely riveted stay-cool steel handles are oven-safe to 500 degrees F, so food can be browned on the stovetop then transferred to the oven to finish cooking. This pan should be hand-washed with a mild detergent, and it carries a limited lifetime warranty against defects. --Simon Leake

"Great little pot. Short and stout!" 2010-05-02

Love every thing about it. Just the right size for a single guy. Built strong to handle the abuse of college life and the price was right too! Not only does it cook rice well with no sticking what so ever (gotta love teflon) but it also distributes the heat perfectly for that awesome french silk pie custard that I love so much, no hot spots to scald my masterpiece. Yes this single college guy cooks homemade pies ladies! Happy cooking to all and to all a good night!

"Quality non-stick at a bargain price" 2010-04-13
By Jesse D. Keilson (Rockville, MD USA)
I needed a new small saucepan and didn't want to spend a bundle. I bought this in the 1.5 qt size, and I have to say it is an amazing value. Highlights:
- The nonstick coating is effective and seems durable. Sticky sauces like bechamel just come right off.
- Heat retention is mediocre-to-poor (standard with aluminum) and the size is too small for effective searing, but those were limitations I was aware of before purchasing.
- No noticeable hotspots.
- Due to small size, positioning over the burner is important to keep the handle cool. When properly on the stove, handle stays adequately cool, but just a an inch or two in the wrong direction and you can get a very hot handle.
- Fit and finish are top notch in this price range.
- Lid works well for heat retention, glass can be nice to peek in on your food.
It's no All-Clad or Mauviel, but it's a really good saucepan for the price.

"thank you Amazon" 2010-03-27
By Michael A DiTrapani (Tennessee, USA)
In the Cuisinart Chef's Cookware set I bought at Christmas, this saucepan got lost in a move. I'm very thankful to find a replacement at Amazon. This is only one of the many reasons I shop here.
