"great for soup" 2010-04-20
By Christina (NY, NY)
This pot is great for making soup. I love the bowl shape! It is easy to work with & cooks beautifully. So happy with this I bought a second one (at amazing price of $23) for my mom.

-edit: I forgot to mention that I use it on ceramic glass top & it works perfectly (heats quickly & evenly).

"shape good, spots bad" 2010-03-08
By scottfeldstein (waukesha, WI United States)
If you're worried about the unusual shape being a problem, forget about it. Any concern I had about the non-vertical sides making this pot tippy proved unfounded. it's as good at boiling pasta as it is simmering soup. I have, however, noticed small spots forming on the bottom (inside) of the pot. These could not be removed with barkeeper's friend. They're very small and I'm not too worried about it. But I know other reviewers have noted it and returned the item.

"Exactly What I Needed" 2010-03-06
By Jean Baraclough (Hagerstown, MD)
I bought three Cuisinart pans at the same time. I decided on this one instead of a Dutch oven and am so glad I did. I can cook almost anything in this pot. The size is generous. I love the slope of the side walls -- makes it really easy to work with whatever is in the pot. It moves easily from the stovetop to the oven, which was a priority for me. All handles and lids are oven-compatible. It isn't quite as heavy as I would have hoped, thus the four stars instead of five. But, it cleans easily, cooks evenly and is a perfect all-around pot.

"Multi Pot for multi uses!" 2010-01-25
By P. Taylor (Central PA)
I have had this pot for at least 3 years now. It comes in handy so many different times when I am cooking. I have been able to keep it looking brand new with a little Bar Keepers Friend when it is needed. It makes a great soup pot, chili pot, spaghetti sauce pot, it just seems like I am always pulling it out of the cupboard for one thing or another. It heats very evenly, has a nice heavy bottom and I love the glass lid so you can see what is going on in the pot without opening the lid. I had purchased a set of the Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless Steel Cookware from a local store, THEN came home and checked out Amazon. Learned my lesson there, always check Amazon first! I got the set of pans considerably cheaper right here on Amazon than from the store and I got this very pot as a free bonus, sure couldn't beat that!! The store clerk when I returned it asked me why I was returning it. I told her I found it cheaper on Amazon, she said 'Oh you should always look there first."

"poor quality - used once and noticed spots just from boiling water" 2009-12-31
By D. Richards (Detroit, MI United States)
Bought this pan at a major department store. Used the pan once to make pasta. Upon boiling the water we noticed spots inside the bottom of the pan. We quickly emptied the water and sure enough, the spots were still there. The three black spots would not clean up. It's almost as if the aluminum is defective. We'll be returning the pot for a full refund and we will be weary about Cuisinart cookware in the future.
