The heavy-duty lid locks down during cooking; an inner sealing ring keeps the steam in. I have never used a pressure cooker before, but I love this one. It is very easy to use, durable and my beans (my most common use) are done in 5-10 minutes after soaking overnight. It used to take me 2 hours cooking beans on the stove top. The Cooker is very durable and sturdy and will surely last for years.

this size (6 Quart) is just right for my family of 4. Most things I cook take 4 to 10 minutes. I wished I had bought one before, I was always afraid to use one, but it couldn't be easier. It is very easy to put the lid on and it is not to heavy when you take the pot off the stove. I would buy it again.

This pressure cooker is great! I had purchased one for my mom, and she like her's so much, I decided to purchase one for myself. I shopped several local stores and their prices were so much higher than what I had purchased my mom's cooker for, so I decided to shop online with amazon, which my son had given amazon such a good rating, and to my surprise their price was the best I found. The price was about $25 cheaper than what I bought my mom's for, and I got free shipping right to my home. The cooker is exactly like my mom's cooker and it is really nice. This size is just right, not too big and not too small. For those of you that have never used a pressure cooker this is the one you should buy, it will last you a long time, and stainless is the way to go!

Works great. I love this pressure cooker, especially for under $40. My only negative is that the handle become loose often. It is easy to re-tighten it, but wish it stayed tight.
